Which of the Ten Commandments should be enforced by the government? This is a very difficult question, to which I will make the following observation. If a government were to enforce any of the commandments, it would first have to break one in the process. Firstly, compulsory taxation is how a government pay its enforcers to enforce any law, and compulsory taxation is stealing. Secondly, violence, and the threat thereof, is how a government’s enforcers enforce its laws, and if you resist their violence, they kill you. You can easily see the contradictions in these two simple, however accurate examples, that is, if you are willing to admit the emperor has no clothes.
